But, since the pandemic hit,
I have not had enough to
warrant an announcement.

One of the things we've
learned this year is how
much connection matters.

Vibo Music School

I've taken part in a few
remote productions this year.

The faculty of the Vibo
music school, where I teach,
produced this uplifting cover of
"Put a Little Love in Your Heart"

Crowdsourced Bach

I took part in a crowdsource
project to record an arrangement
by Justin Tokke of one of Bach's
Well-Tempered Klavier.

This project spurred me
to improve my saxophone sound,
and I'm enjoying an ongoing
collaboration with Syos for
a custom bari sax piece.

Prelude ~ Fugue

Original Productions

I've made some progress
on my orchestrations.

At the start of shelter-in-place,
we did some remote recordings of
my recent string arrangements.

Even just the string trio
parts for Octagon Warrior
are refreshing, and remind
me of Bartok.

Exquisite Corpse

For the truly adverterous,
an Exquisite Corpse
curated by Carl Herder.

This is a musical variation of
the Surrealist parlor game
where each musician composes
a track while listening
to just one other track.

Then their track is sent
as the basis for someone
else to collaborate on.

Repeat 14 times, in this case.

And thankfully, judicious editing.

This video pairs well with edibles.

Chess Streaming

I've been playing chess for
about 2 years, been watching
chess streamers for about year,
and started streaming on my
Twitch channel a few months ago.

Wednesdays at 9:30PM-11:00PM
Sundays at 6:00PM-10:00PM

I will be streaming a simul
for my birthday in February.

Looking Ahead

I am excited to announce

that I am undergoing a rebranding.

Coincident with my recent
legal name change, I am

relaunching as Alt Jazz,
with my flagship chamber
orchestra known as Alt Jazz Ark.

I'm in the middle of creating
the altjazz.com website, and
associated web properties.

This mailing list will
also get rebranded under the
Alt Jazz name, and the next
announcement will clarify
the transition.
