Parallel Play SF

where the fine arts of paint and

music collaborate during a

seriously fun evening in painter

Peggy Gyulai's studio.

This event will feature the

alt.musica saxophones edition:

Elaine Alt - Saxophones and Clarinets

Greg German - Drums

Anthony Blea - Violin
Charith Premawardhana - Violin

Wendy Clymer - Viola

Doug Machiz - 'Cello

Carl Herder - Bass

Playing original compositions

by Elaine as well as a few

Jazz chestnuts.

because Peggy's events usually

fill to capacity, which is 30 seats.

alt.musica update

This has been a busy year

for alt.musica.

the culmination of a few years

growing from woodwinds,

bending the stick towards strings,

and workshopping a lot of

recordings along the way.

For the first time in January,

we gathered everyone in a room

to play the music together.

During the spring and summer,

we performed five times at venues

including Il Pirata, Flaming Hakama

open studios, and the Monroe.

This autumn, we've been busy

preparing new material and

collaborations, to present later

in 2019.

teaching saxophone

Another positive development

is that I've started teaching

saxophone at the Vibo music

school, in both San Francisco

and San Bruno.

So far, it has been a good

challenge diving into

pedagogy, and has motivated

me to practice more!
